“Sam has been an integral partner of the Horse Racing Women’s Association since the inaugural Horse Racing Women’s Summit in 2022. In that first year, Sam was able to take our brand guidelines and implement them into an event program that captured the essence of the Summit and all who participated. We have counted on Sam for a number of projects since then and find her to be talented, reliable, and great to work with.”

Superfection Design is named after Samantha’s horse, Superfection (barn name Shaylon), a 2010 foal by Supercharger and half-brother to Derby winner Super Saver. Born the same year Super Saver won the Derby, he was the winning choice from 8,855 entries in WinStar Farm’s naming contest before being sold as a yearling at the 2011 Saratoga Sale and later featured in press and DRF coverage. After training in Europe and returning to Kentucky, an injury ended his racing career, and Samantha adopted him in 2013 during her senior year at the University of Kentucky. With careful rehab and training, Shaylon became a hunter who loved his job, and after years of showing and lessons together, he is now happily retired. His long, unlikely journey—and the role he’s played in Samantha’s life—made his name a natural fit for the work she creates today.
